What birthday gifts can be bought… and what cannot be…
It is very hard to choose the right birthday gift for the right person nowadays and it takes a real mastermind to come up with an original gift idea that will make the recipient thrilled. There are many things to be taken into account such as the age, gender, hobbies, etc. However, there are some gifts which are rather universal and can be applied to every person. As a matter of fact, it is actually the simplest gifts that can make the recipient the happiest. Also, some of those gifts are not even available in stores simply because they come from the heart. Let’s divide the two types of birthday gifts – those that can and those that cannot be bought.
What are some of the gifts for birthday that can be bought?
The first thing that comes to my mind is something to eat or drink from. Look at it from the logical point of view – all the people eat and drink, some more and some less. However, if you manage to come up with an original idea for the right person, they will certainly like it.
Let me give you an example; my niece is a huge fan of Cinderella and I bought her a mug which shows Cinderella in ragged clothes. However, this was one of those mugs that, once heated, they change the picture. The heated picture was Cinderella in dressed for ball in a beautiful dress, just like in Disney’s cartoon.
As you can see, this was a simple gift which involved an everyday object, but it was the picture on the mug that was actually the gift and not the mug itself.
What are some best birthday gifts that cannot be bought?
The gifts that cannot be bought are usually those that involve a lot of your creation – a song, a poem or a painting. These are, of course, useful with people that are close to you and that is the reason why they will like it very much – it is from the heart. A friend of mine was out of money for his girlfriend’s birthday and he decided to write her a song, inviting me to help him out with my guitar. We did not do a good job since he is a very bad singer, but it was entertaining to both his girlfriend and other guests and we felt like rock stars.
The point is – real gifts have no value but it is up to the person receiving the gift to see that fact. You might ask yourself whether the recipient will value more your creativity or your ability to choose right. Choosing to buy a gift, always go for something that helps in fulfilling basic human needs and add your own creativity to it. However, creating something as a gift can be a lot more interesting to do.
